Get your feature published in Stylist

Have you ever dreamt of having something you’ve written published in a magazine read by hundreds of thousands of people every week?

Well, as part of Stylist’s 100th Made By You issue, we’re giving you the chance to do just that with our hunt for talented writers to pen our features for the special one-off issue. Just follow the straightforward instructions below and make sure your features pitch reaches us by Wednesday, 28 September to be in with a chance of having your feature in Stylist’s 100th issue.

Step 1:

To enter, all you have to do is write a 200-word pitch detailing exactly what you’d like to write for our special birthday issue. We’ve made it easier by breaking it down into four different categories which we love here at Stylist. Here they are:

1. Talking point

Remember our feature on Have you got goldfish memory syndrome, or have you forgotten already? It’s these kinds of features which really get people talking over their desks in the morning. Any ideas?

2. Memoir

Have you got a personal story which you think would really resonate with the Stylist reader? We’re looking for readers to write us brilliant personal memoirs about something which has affected them.

3. Investigative report

Have you read some statistics or some new research which shocked or intrigued you? Are you desperate to turn these into a weighty feature will grip all our readers?

4. Practical guide

One of Stylist reader’s favourite features was our round-up of the best afternoon teas in the UK . Think you have something they’ll love even more? We’d love to hear your pitch.

Step 2:

Once you’ve decided which category you’d like to write your pitch for, download a copy of the Stylist Issue 100 Feature Competition Entry Form at the bottom of this page, and fill it in with your details and your 200-word pitch. You can pitch for as many categories as you’d like, but you must do a separate entry form for each.

Below you’ll find some really useful information to make sure your feature stands out from the crowd. Please make sure you read this properly in order for your feature pitch to be considered.

Step 3:

Once you’re happy with your feature pitch please post your entry form to Stylist Issue 100 Feature Competition, 26-34 Emerald Street, London, WC1N 3QA. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, 28 September. If you have any queries about this competition please email issue100features@stylist.co.uk.

Pitch a winning feature

Please follow these guidelines to make sure your Stylist feature pitch is entered into the competition

- This must be your original idea. We cannot accept anything which has been published elsewhere.

- You must be an amateur writer. We cannot accept a pitch from anyone whose work has been published in the mainstream consumer press.

- All entrants must be over 18

- If you’d love to enter but have no idea where to start then why not log on to our web chat with Stylist’s Associate Editor, Alix Walker, on Thursday 15 September at 1pm. Alix has overseen Stylist’s features since our launch issue nearly two years ago and knows exactly what grabs our reader’s attention and makes them tick.
