Angelina Jolie has landed her first job since splitting from Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie has just taken on her first beauty gig in 10 years.

In her first major move into the public eye since her high-profile split from Brad Pitt, the A-list actor and human rights activist will front Guerlain’s new perfume Mon Guerlain.

It’s not known how much the luxury French cosmetics brand is paying for Jolie to promote the fragrance - but it has been revealed that the 41-year-old By The Sea star will donate her entire salary to charity.

Megastar that she is, Jolie is not merely putting her name to a perfume – she was the scent’s muse. Created by “Master Perfumer” Thierry Wasser, the fragrance, which will be out in March, “expresses the idea of the ‘notes of a woman’: the choices, emotions and dreams that embody modern femininity.”

"We create perfumes for the women we admire" said Jacques Guerlain, the man behind the beauty brand’s iconic Shalimar, L'Heure Bleue and Mitsouko scents.

For her part, Jolie has a personal connection to the brand through her late mother Marcheline Bertrand, whose “love of a Guerlain powder” forms part of her childhood memories.

Possibly in a bid to distance the news from her impending divorce, Guerlain’s brief announcement includes information that the By The Sea star signed the contract for the gig in December 2015, while she was in Cambodia directing First They Killed My Father (and 10 months before she and Pitt split in the full glare of the media).

Jolie has not acted as a beauty ambassador since her contract with Shiseido in 2007:

Meanwhile Pitt, 53, has already made two public appearances since their split. He introduced the film Moonlight, which his company has produced, at the Golden Globes earlier this month and a week later he showed up at a celebrity-packed charity event in Malibu.

Those appearances were sandwiched by a joint statement from the former couple, who have six children, announcing that they are undertaking divorce proceedings out of the public eye by hiring a private judge.
