Behind the scenes of Diane Von Furstenberg A/W12 New York show

Models wore a very soft smokey eye and glowy rosy cheeks on the Diane Von Furstenberg catwalk last week. M.A.C Senior Artist Debbie Finnegan talks us through the look used that day and how to recreate it.

"What's the difference between a rendez-vous and a meeting? A rendez-vous has an air of mystery and secrecy about it." This was the inspiration for Diane's collection and James Kaliardos translated this perfectly into a mood filled smokey eye.

Diane wanted an eye that was not black but that still was sultry, sexy and real. A new shade of M.A.C Prolongwear eyeshadow in a cool slate grey was washed across the eyelid and a touch of M.A.C Eye Kohl in Smolder was added to the base of the lash line and diffused. M.A.C Powerpoint Pencil in Grey Utility was added to the inner rim of the eye to increase the smokey element and finally a wash of M.A.C Gloss was added to the eye lid for extra dimension.

M.A.C Studio fix Mascara was added to add volume and separation to the lashes.

Cheeks were naturally sculpted using a new M.A.C Sculpting Cream in a warm caramel shade.

Lip were kept natural using only a whisper of M.A.C Lip Pencil in Soar, a rosy pink shade, then topped with M.A.C Lip Conditioner.
