Being seriously wealthy and a famous face to boot, you’d think that former Girls Aloud star Cheryl Tweedy might be all about the luxury when it comes to her beauty regime –spending her mornings dousing herself in £300 La Prairie Skin Caviar, for example, or celeb favourite Crème de la Mer (for £1,500 a tub).

In a teaser trailer for a prerecorded interview with ITV’s This Morning (due to air Wednesday 13 September), the L’Oreal spokesperson reveals her favourite skincare product to be coconut oil.
“I use coconut oil from head to toe,” she says.

“Literally, you can eat it, you can put it in your hair, you can put it on your face, your body. It's like, brilliant stuff.”

And she’s not the first big name to have praised the general greatness of coconut oil.
Celebrities from Gwyneth Paltrow to Angelina Jolie swear by it, and it's been selling in droves here in the UK, with sales of coconut oil up 442% in Sainsbury's in 2014.
And the best part? You can pick some up for a few pounds in pretty much every supermarket.
Containing luaric acid, which is not only an antibacterial but also has anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties to boot, the multitasking product can be used as a cleanser, moisturiser and make-up remover.
Dr Elena Dimitrova, a clinical dermatologist and expert in hair loss at The Belgravia Centre in London, told us back in 2015: “Coconut oil may well prove useful in smoothing the hair shaft and improving texture.”
