Most of us own two types of make-up. Make-up we wear, and make-up that sits in a box in a draw screaming out to be used. Aside from the odd foray into a daring lipstick or two, most of us will wear the same make-up day-in-day-out, but why?

Throwing caution to the wind and donning a new shade of lipstick or going hell for leather on a crazy manicure feels good.

To give you a little inspiration, we’ve found some of the best blogs, Instagrammers and YouTube stars of right now. Some create looks you can try at home, while others are perhaps more fancy dress than Monday morning.

Pixiwoo

The sister duo behind this vlog cover everything so it’s little wonder they’ve amassed a following of more than 1.5 million on YouTube. Basic make-up tutorials, celebrity looks, party makeup and fancy dress. The basic videos are perfect for beauty beginners, and even if you leave and breathe make-up you might learn something new. Want to fake Kristen Stewart’s eyebrows (who doesn’t?), get Rhianna’s look or apply eye make-up to compliment the shape of your eyes? It’s all here.

Dana Bomar

Not massively confident when it comes to experimenting with make-up? Start with your lips. Dana Bomar is a make-up artist and owner of Melt Cosmetics, the company behind Rhianna’s striking blue lips. Lipsticks are a big thing for Bomar, with some pretty fierce colours as well as two-tone lips that actually look pretty amazing. She also throws in some daring eye makeup and the occasional manicure for inspiration across the board.

Dress Up Box

Make-up artist Hannah Concannon paints some seriously cool things on her face every day. Where to start? She’s recreated Lady Gaga’s Art Pop album cover, turned herself into a giraffe and painted a tube sign across her face. She posts these crazy characters on her Instagram account every day. It may not be Monday morning chic, but it’ll give you lots of ideas for fancy dress parties and Halloween.

Beauty by JJ

This UK beauty blogger’s make-up tutorials are big on lips, eyes and hair. Bright colours, bright weaves and shoes that match your make-up – what’s not to love? The freelance make-up artist has more than 350,000 followers and has created looks inspired by Rhianna, Beyonce and Nicki Minaj.

Sona Gasparian

If you’re looking for make-up that is super wearable and pretty, Sona Gasparian is perfect. Gothic, red and nude lips, flawless eyes and tips on how to make your make-up seasonal, she also has tutorials on hair to complement the looks. Her Instagram page will inspire you to try new looks, which you can then learn how to do on her YouTube channel.
