Is your hair looking a little lacklustre? Try dipping it in camel's urine. Want to lose weight? Just eat a tape worm. And if you want to make your brows look bushier, clip a bit of fur from a rat and fill in the blanks, to ensure a more hirsute look.

No, we've not totally lost our minds, honest. Rather, we've just discovered a brilliant infographic that demonstrates beauty tricks and methods adopted over the years by various civilizations.

The artists who created the infographic have scoured the history books to bring us some of the more obscure make-up, diet and hair care tips from over hundreds of years.

From Ancient Egypt's use of animal fat to secure a hairstyle to the modern day therapy of using flesh-eating fish to get smooth feet, take a look at some of the more strange beauty tips from history.
