Jennifer Aniston reveals unlikely hair tip and the one thing she would never do to her locks

She has the most enviable locks in the whole of Hollywood, and while we've admired her tresses for years, we've never truly discovered the secret to Jennifer Aniston's incredible head of hair. That is until now.

In a new interview with Fashionista.com, the star revealed how many times she washes it per week and what damages hair:

“I’d say I go every two to three days easily without washing my hair," said the 46-year-old actress, who went to explain the problem with most haircare products. “Silicone is a culprit in most shampoos. Over time, it builds up and turns into a hard coating and it cracks and breaks and snaps your hair.”

Asked what she does after she's been at the gym and whether she has to wash it again, she gave a rather surprising response:

“A little sweat in the hair is nice. It’s like a little product. You just blow it out with your fingers and it’s actually just fun.”

Although Jennifer is known for the 'Rachel' cut from her time in Friends, she has been outspoken about the fact that she thought it was it was “the ugliest haircut [she'd] ever seen”, which was created by her long-time friend and hairstylist Chris McMillan.

So while she might set trends, she definitely doesn't follow them, so don't go expecting her to pull a Kim Kardashian any time soon:

“I’m not a trend person really. I kind of wait for the trends to go. Platinum blond — unless it was a wig — no.”

But that's not to say Chris doesn't try to push for the A-lister to go out of her hair comfort zone:

“Chris has that thing where he’s like Edward Scissorhands. He just sees hair and he wants to cut it. He would love for me to go... he wants to just cut it all off, kind of like a pixie, which I will never do. And he always likes to give it a good two inches every year, just a healthy cut. He’s also suggested going back to dark brown. We play with different things. I do listen to him sometimes.”

Speaking of Chris, she also addressed the topless shot she did with her best friend in the recent issue of Allure magazine (pictured on Instagram above):

“We were both supposed to be naked-naked, not even with jeans on. When we were setting up the shot and [photographer Michael Thompson] was just doing a lighting test, we were playing, and that was one of the first three shots. He just basically said, 'I got it.' I didn’t have to get naked with my gay best friend! [laughs].”
