Ice facials, plenty of lippy and a great tan; Kate Moss shares her beauty secrets for party season

When you’re thinking about getting ready for the party season ahead, there’s only one person you should take advice from and that’s Kate Moss.

In her role as ambassador for St. Tropez, the iconic supermodel, who knows a thing or two about a decent party, has shared her beauty and fashion secrets and the key to looking amazing come the festive period.

Not only does she talk about her go-to look that’s perfect for any party, she also shares her secret on how to feel and look good for the day after.

For starters, Kate likes to change it up in winter and loves metallic make-up for a Christmas party:

“I wear a little bit more shimmer. Sometimes I’ll add a metallic eye and I use the St.Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil to give my skin a hint of colour and subtle shimmer which is perfect for parties.”

She also gives us a good idea on how to emulate those incredible Moss cheekbones.

“I love to mix bronzers and highlighters to contour and bring out the cheekbone. Charlotte Tilbury does an amazing Filmstar Killer Cheekbones duo that I love.”

Although, she says, her fail safe party look is “a red lip and glistening skin”.

But not only does Kate give us tips on how to make our faces and bodies look good she also offers up some advice on how to dress well:

“I love themes for parties, Jamie’s quite good at just going into his closest and coming out with an amazing outfit. I just like the whole process of dressing up, getting ready with the girls and seeing what everyone else has come up with. It’s fun when everyone makes an effort.”

In terms of fragrance, Kate says that she likes a  “moodier” fragrance and that she loves “the new ones Bella Freud has just brought out. They are gorgeous!”

As for the morning after, Kate loves a decent tan as “[It] gives you a healthier glow; you just look healthier in general. You can get away with a late night with a tan – it covers up a multitude of sins.”

Another tip for those who might be feeling the affects after a big night out is filling a sink with ice and cucumber and “submerging [her] face” as “it instantly tightens everything making you feel and look instantly awake”. While this sounds painful, we know we're going to be trying this come Boxing Day.

While there are split views on whether juicing is actually beneficial for you, Kate says that she loves it as it gives “you bright eyes with a bit of a twinkle and it keeps your hair shiny. And at the moment I am using the Elle Macpherson Super Elixir supplement, I just add it to my juices.”

As for the cold weather in general she’s an advocate of oils and facials as they're so nourishing for the skin, in particular Sanctuary Spa’s Wonder Oil Serum as “it’s like getting a natural face-lift”.

Finally, ever wondered what Christmas day looks like round at Kate and Jamie's?

“Me, my mum and friend cook – we always have a traditional turkey with all the trimmings. We have friends and family round; it’s always a full house!”
