Model of the moment Kendall Jenner first appeared on our screens in 2007 when she starred as a shy teenager in her family's hit reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Now the infamous Kardashian sisters' younger half sibling is a star in her own right, having hit the catwalk for designers including Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Givenchy. She's also taking social media by storm, amassing a cool 58 million followers and counting on her Instagram account.
Here, stylist.co.uk sits down with the ultimate "Instagirl" to talk beauty, food and her disastrous first experience of shaving her legs.
Growing up in a house full of women must have meant you picked up so much beauty advice…
Yes, but I was also the biggest tom boy. I was much more into my sports and horses. But I couldn’t help but be curious about beauty because I was always surrounded by girls, fashion and makeup. My sisters were so much older than me and obviously you’re so intrigued by what your older sisters are doing.
I remember walking in on Kim [Kardashian] shaving her legs in the shower once when I was seven and I was like, “when can I do that, I want to shave my legs”, and she was like, “not for a long time, Kendall”. Then two days later I went and stole her razor and shaved my legs without water or soap, just completely dry - I ended up cutting my legs to shreds. I learned from them all the time (but maybe not always good things!)
How would you describe your beauty style now?
I’m definitely not a tomboy anymore. I was so into being sporty and athletic when I was younger but that changed when I was in high school and got into more girly stuff. But you can still tell the difference between me and my sisters - my older sisters love to get really dressed up, even on a day off.
Kylie's into sweat pants, and she can really pull that off, but the others love doing their hair and all of that stuff. I’m more of an easy girl in that way. I’d say I slot in somewhere in-between them: I like a bit of the glam but a bit of the off-duty look, too.
Your eyebrows are looking pretty on point...
I’ve been travelling a lot and I need to get them done so badly. One of my sister’s friends does them for me. My eyebrows are pretty good on their own and they’re really straight, so if I do too much to them they can look quite heavy. Most mornings I just brush them up or use a little pencil on the ends.
What is your morning beauty routine?
Makeup wise, I like a very light and dewy base. The Estée Edit Beam Team (£34, selfridges.com) is amazing for a really light-weight glow that’s so easy on the skin, then I just add a little mascara. That’s my dream look for a day off. Glowy skin, great bows and lashes.
You fly a lot, what essentials do you always have in your in-flight kit?
I always have a lip balm with me wherever I go. The Estée Edit Flash Photo Powder (£24, selfridges.com) is great for dusting on just after you get off the flight.
But I don't take any other makeup on board with me. It’s my biggest pet peeve in the entire world when I see people flying in makeup. I can’t express to you how uncomfortable I am right now thinking of flying with makeup on my skin. It just feels like it soaks right in.
My advice would be to just take it all off and do a face mask on the plane and let that do it's thing instead.
We have hair envy. What are your top products for gorgeous hair?
That’s so funny. Even my hair stylists are like, “What do you do to your hair Kendall?” I’m surprised it’s stayed so healthy two years after doing shows and shoots. They told me after my first season that my hair would be fried due to all of the styling but it’s really held on. I don’t do anything crazy to it, but I use a hair mask once in a while. I need to bottle it and sell whatever it is.
If I do my hair myself I just throw in some Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray (£22, bumbleandbumble.co.uk) to give it a little texture because my hair is so straight and silky on its own but that’s it.
Can you ever nip to the shop to buy a shower gel or toothpaste if you run out?
Yes, I go to the drugstore, I’m very normal. I have my tricks. I love to fool the paparazzi and get away from them. I have so many friends that live in LA that drive so I steal one of their cars and drive away.
What’s the best thing about finally getting home after travelling for so long?
Taking a shower, getting into my own bed and eating my own food. I’ve been craving American snacks. I’m obsessed with Frito Chilli Cheese Chips - they’re amazing. Please try them next time you’re in America.
I’ve also randomly been craving this sushi spot called Shibuya that’s next to my mum’s house. It’s 45 minutes away from my house but it’s going to have to be the first thing I do when I get home. I’ve been craving it for nearly three weeks now. It’s like a hole in the wall spot and those sushi spots in LA are always the best.
You’ve spoken before about your past struggles with acne knocking your confidence. What advice would you give to a woman struggling with confidence issues?
It’s rough. I had pretty intense acne when I was 15 years old and I really struggled. When it was happening to me I never saw an end to it, so I would advise people to just know that it will end and it will be over. It just takes some time.
Surround yourself with friends who will never judge you. I even had guy friends who would come up to me and offer me products to help. I wasn’t offended by it, I just thought it was so nice that they cared.
What’s the best piece of beauty advice your mum ever gave you?
My mum is the biggest supporter. She’s the best: she has so many kids but she still gives us all a lot of attention. She always tells us how beautiful we are. That’s such a mum thing to do, I think every mum should do that. In itself that confidence building advice is good.
My siblings and I all definitely call my mum up if something's happening. She’s a champ for even taking it because I would be so over it by now. I’d be like, “please call your dad or your sisters or something”. She’s got such a full plate but she’s so cool.

Do you feel pressure to keep your Instagram feed looking perfect?
I personally like it to look good, it’s one of my things - I’m OCD and a perfectionist. If I use a filter it’s usually Slumber and then I tone it down a little bit. You won’t look at my Instagram and see a million selfies of me, I just post what I like to look at. And then the occasional selfie.
Who do you follow?
I follow a bunch of cool Instagram accounts like @nightydrunklovers and @paris_obsessions. They’re both quite random and post stuff like throwback pictures of Audrey Hepburn or just good photography. It's random stuff but I think they’re good.
Do you have an all-time beauty icon?
I love Angelina Jolie. I think that her face is just perfect and her makeup always looks perfect.
