MAC and Beth Ditto

This year has started with bang for cosmetics giant MAC, as the brand continue on its path of unrivalled and inventive collaborations. But having the incendiary Beth Ditto - lead singer for Gossip - front their new campaign is perhaps its finest moment, at least in our eyes.

It’s a foregone conclusion that her musical prowess is unsurpassable and her day-to-day chameleon approach to make-up looks are as bold as they are genre-defying. But what has ultimately held our gaze Beth-wards - almost six years since Standing In the Way Of Control topped the UK Indie chart at number 1 - is her ability to inspire and ignite with a deftness that her peers could only dream of. Think of Ditto not only as an electrifying performer, but also as a traditional beauty icon re-imagined.

The M∙A∙C Beth Ditto collection will be available globally in June 2012 and the M∙A∙C AIDS Funds will donate 190,000 Euros to French AIDS awareness charity Sidaction this year.
