If you prefer to buy your cosmetics without the personal service, Harvey Nichols is providing make-up products at the push of a button.

The department store's London branch has installed a permanent Beauty Mart vending machine that dispenses 32 beauty bags priced from £3.45 for "posh" Trinket tampons to £98 for a haul that includes Dr Jackson's signature skin cream.

Beauty Mart's vending machine is now on the fourth floor of Harvey Nichols London

Former Vogue beauty director Anne-Marie Solowij and Millie Kendall, co-founder of Rubie and Millie, dreamt up the idea and carefully edited the product choices for each bag, including brands such as Jurlique, Model's Own and Wah Nails in their selections.

Solowij told Stylist that the vending machine offers a "different way to shop for a sophisticated customer” and said the high-end department store is "excited about the idea of a technology based, innovative beauty shopping experience."

Customers can play beauty roulette, or use a touchscreen to see the items contained in each bag.
