Beauty's most wanted: Pat McGrath gives a sneak peek at her next hero product launch

make.jpg

Just a few short weeks ago, Pat McGrath sent the beauty world spinning when she launched the first product from her namesake brand, Pat McGrath Labs.

A highly-pigmented, shimmering gold-pressed powder, Gold 001 was previewed backstage at the SS 2016 shows (yes, it’s what she used to create those gold-plated lips at Prada).

And since, we haven’t been able to scroll through our Instagram feed without spotting a fan picture dedicated to the product or celebrity plastered in the stuff, under the hashtag #Gold001.

When McGrath launched a limited supply of the product online in late October, needless to say it instantly sold out.

But if you weren’t one of the few lucky people to get your hand on this cult product (we’re yet to find someone who was), never fear: McGrath Labs is back with what is set to be the next most-wanted beauty product.

This week, McGrath gave us all a sneak peek at the new launch – called Phantom 002 – in a series of teaser videos on the make-up artist’s Instagram feed.

COMING SOON to #PatMcGrathLabs... #Phantom002 #DEC15 ✖️

Being the woman of mystery she is, McGrath doesn’t give much away.

The videos show a bubbling, swirling pot of a substance similar to petrol.

Our best guess is that she’s launching a new holographic pigment much like the multi-hued rainbow effect you find on a beetle’s back.

And if it’s as amped up and as highly-pigmented as Gold 001, it’s bound to be incredible.

We’re still not sure if the new product will be multi-use like the original (petrol effect cheeks, anyone?) but we’ll be refreshing our Instagram feeds until we find out more.

Phantom 002 is set to launch on 15 December and has already scored a place right at the top of our Christmas list.
