Rainbow freckles: the latest beauty trend taking Instagram by storm

First came rainbow hair. Next, rainbow eyebrows.

And then there was even that particularly unusual period where everyone was dyeing their underarms in bright colours (we're looking at you, Miley).

But the make-up artists of Instagram have spoken, and there's a new beauty trend we should be hashtagging immediately: rainbow freckles.

This eye-catching fad involves covering the face in a smattering of colourful spots and beauty lovers are posting #rainbowfreckles selfies in their droves.

When it comes to rainbow freckles, no shade is off-limits.

From Barbie pink...

... to aqua blue...

There's no denying that freckles are back on the beauty agenda: gone are the days when we hide them behind layers of foundation.

In fact, it's easier than ever to fake them (shout out to Topshop's freckle pencil) - so come get on-board and join in the multi-coloured fun.
