MAC’s new Nutcracker-inspired make-up collection is truly magical

MAC-COMPOSITE.jpg

“Leap into a magical land that’s a bit nutty, a little naughty, and bursting with whimsy. Lose yourself in an eccentric kingdom of oversized treats and rosy-cheeked nutcrackers. Twist, turn and tumble deeper into the Land of Dolls. Out story has only begun…”

So reads the opening spiel for MAC’s latest Nutcracker Sweet collection, inspired by classic ballet The Nutcracker. In real-life terms, that translates into a giant collection – over 40 different products, count ’em – of endearingly eccentric and eminently Christmas party-worthy make-up.

Think twinkly eye shadows, punchy lipsticks, rosy blusher, and rich kohl eyeliners in shades of caramel, liquorice and plum (naturally) – plus glitter pigment pots that should be going straight to the top of the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Christmas list.

As ever with MAC, the packaging is beautiful, and all of the products have deliciously kitsch on-theme names, from Dream Scene to Cake and Biscuits, Tutu and Nutcracker Rouge.

The limited edition festive collection is set to drop online on 20 October, with prices starting at around £15. But you’ll have to be quick – it will only be available until 8 December.
