A bold new film from skincare brand REN has got beauty commentators a-buzz with its evocative storyline, focusing on a couple going skinny-dipping in a remote lake in Sweden.
The short film, created to mark REN's 11 year anniversary, aims to reject airbrushed beauty with its honest and provocative depiction of the two young lovers frolicking in the lake together.
In the family-friendly version, shown below, a beautifully-produced montage shows the couple taking off their clothes before swimming together to an ethereal soundtrack.
It then cuts to the man asking the woman, "How do you feel?" She replies, "clean."
The unedited 18+ version is rather more graphic and is available to watch on YouTube.
The film was shot in a fjord in Sweden by Vince Squibb.
REN founder Rob Calcraft said, "The brief was to dramatise the character and imagery of REN while reinforcing the idea of Clean Skincare. I think the result is unique and interesting, but I would say that, wouldn't I?"
