The best beauty looks from the Emmys 2015

rexfeatures_5125627ou.jpg

We’re forever glued to red carpet events, as much to see the hair and beauty looks as we are to find out the winners. Here’s who won big in the beauty department at last night’s Emmy Awards…

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts

Total respect for the woman who never gets it wrong on the red carpet. Practically oozing radiance from every pore, just some cleverly placed highlighter on top of cheekbones gives the skin that natural, glowy veil. It’s what everyone’s now referring to as strobing except Watts has been doing it for years.

Emma Roberts

Emma Roberts

There’s nothing worse than a strong smokey eye paired with a feeble eyebrow, which is why Emma’s bushy brows get a special mention. No hair has gone untouched and it’s refreshing to see they’ve been left in their homegrown shape – no forced arches or unnecessary tapering here.

Jaimie Alexander

Wet look hair isn’t going anywhere on the catwalks so all credit to Jaimie for embracing it. Statement, sure but it’s also inertly feminine – with no hair on the face to detract, you get to focus on that amazing bone structure and perfectly kohled eyes. Jealous, much?

Zoe Kazan

Zoe Kazan

Zoe Kazan

If you had a textbook cupid’s bow like Zoe, you’d want to enhance it too and this tomato red lipstick shade is doing the business. Plus do you see how it makes her blue eyes pop? Add that retro kink in her hair that’s halfway between pin curl and beachy wave and you’ve got a lesson in how to style out traditional Hollywood glamour, 2015 style.

DIY it: Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Legendary, £16, boots.com

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington

Pewter grey eyes and plum lips make for an intrinsically balanced beauty look but its Kerry’s hair that really got heads turning at the Emmy’s. Waved then pinned into an asymmetric faux bob that elongates her jawline, it’s the updo that could see people turning to the scissors.
