20 interiors essentials - from throws to lighting - you need to stay warm and cosy this autumn

There are many wise women in the world. None, we'd argue, are more wise that the great Liz Lemon. Sure, she might be fictional but that doesn't mean we can't glean any advice from her.

Perhaps one of the things that we always respected most about 30 Rock's central character was her fondness of staying in. And as the nights draw in, with the added autumnal bluster of wind and rain, we can think of nothing worse than leaving our homes.

With that in mind, we've created a shopping list that consists of warm blankets and rugs, teapots, as well as candle holders and oil burners to keep your home warm, toasty and smelling so lovely you'll never want to leave it except for when you run out of Nutella.

And the best thing is that there's not a Slanket in sight.
