Ashish teams with River Island for ‘dreamy’ gender-neutral collection

London Fashion Week favourite Ashish has teamed up with River Island for a gender-neutral collection that’s bound to be an instant sell-out.

The 15-piece range includes playful slogan jumpers (naturally), embroidered pyjamas, a sequin dress and  – the one we’re already marking as a winter necessity – an oversize sleeping bag puffa jacket.

Creative director and founder Ashish Gupta said he had created “something lazy and a bit dreamy” for RI’s Design Forum, which has previously collaborated with the likes of Sibling, Eudon Choi, Katie Eary and Zoe Jordan.

Ashish will be the first designer to promote a gender-neutral offering for the high street chain.

Slouchy jumper slogans include “sick of all this chic”, “doom and gloom” and “good in bed”, with Gupta, whose “Immigrant” jumper is a cult classic, explaining he wanted the collection to be humorous and easy-wear.

“Something relaxed enough to slouch around the house in, yet stylish enough to be taken out.”

Leisurewear as outerwear? Dreamy.

Hers 'n his

The Ashish x River Island collection launches at London Fashion Week in September. Priced from £30 – £180, it will go on sale on River Island's website.
