Baddie Winkle - aka our hero - is the badass new face of Missguided

Baddie Winkle is, without a doubt, the internet’s coolest and most stylish octogenarian.

She stole our hearts when she first hit up Instagram in 2015, thanks to her eclectic fashion tastes, carefree lifestyle, and wry, badass attitude.

So of course she’s the perfect choice for Missguided’s new party-wear campaign.

Set in a London nightclub, the spread sees the 88-year-old hosting a technicolour get-down – dressed in everything from vivid pink faux fur, to glittering dresses, feather boas, leopard print jackets, slogan jewellery, and sparkling crowns.

Because if you’re going to dress up, dress up.

Samantha Helligso, the brand's creative manager, explained that they picked Baddie to front the campaign because she’s the ultimate embodiment of confidence and a positive attitude.

She told Refinery29: “For our party campaign, we really wanted to be bold and break the mould – we have fun with everything we do and don't take ourselves too seriously.”

It also reminds us of one very important fact: we can slay at any age.

Baddie’s collection will drop 18 November – but it may take a little longer than that for it to sink in for the fashionista. Speaking about the venture on ITV’s This Morning, she said that she can’t believe she’s been chosen to front the campaign.

“I just think, ‘You're 88, you're in London. How did that happen?’ It is amazing, amazing to me.”

When asked for her thoughts on ageing, she said: “I don't know how you're supposed to feel.

"With age, a number is just a number. Should I be feeling old? I just don’t.”

Baddie then gave some advice to older people, telling them to get out the house.

She said: “I would say, ‘Get off your butt and get busy doing the things you wanted to do all your life but never did, so do it before it's too late. Get out and do your thing.’”

Life goals.
