London is one of the world’s biggest fashion hubs, with many areas showcasing their own signature style. East London is synonymous with quirkiness and individuality.
Notorious for its proverbial plaid wearing, glasses sporting Hipster, it's undeniably the trendiest area of London. But it has more to offer than that - It might not look it at first glance, but areas like Dalston, Hackey and Shoreditch are full of the most happening underground clubs and bars in London, arguably full of the most fashionable people you’ll find in the capital, too.
With artists, photographers, and creatives aplenty, it’s no wonder that the cream of young London designers choose to set up studio in East London. It shows on the street as well, with residents of E8 and surrounding areas proudly mixing up-and-coming designer garb with second hand items. It’s these fashionable people of east London that are inspiring the trends, not the other way round.
Dressing for a night out in the area is a breeze – if you know how to pull off that effortless cool look with an air of “just thrown it on”. Even Dr Martens are acceptable going-out gear in east London, where almost anything goes.
