We’re setting a calendar reminder for the 4th December – as two of our favourite French brands unite to create a très chic capsule collection.

Petit Bateau – purveyor of the perfect striped Breton tee and many a classic cotton basic - and Carven – they of the chic collar dresses and atlas print tops, favoured by fashion editors, Alexa Chung and Emma Watson - are bringing their own takes on effortless French cool together into one wearable, covetable capsule collection.

A blend of Petit Bateau’s quality hard-wearing fabrics, and Carven’s elegant shapes, Petit Bateau + Carven will feature now classic Carven styles –the figure-hugging long-sleeved collar dress, the attachable collar for wearing under t-shirts and jumpers, and a few new pieces with distinctly Petit Bateau touches, from a cute striped bodysuit, to a knitted polo shirt that’s perfect for weekend wear. We’ve got our eye on the deep blue dress with a small thigh split and pockets, and the red collar dress – a more affordable version of the one spotted on Alexa Chung.

A chance to snap up Carven’s beautiful designs at Petit Bateau prices, we predict a frenzy similar to recent designer collaborationsMarni for H&M and JW Anderson for Topshop. So take a look at this preview of the collection, and start planning your purchases accordingly.

Petit Bateau + CARVEN will be available from the 4th December in all Petit Bateau stores
