Following on from the Maison Martin Margiela and House of Holland stockings we discovered at Selfridges, the humble Christmas stocking is set to get another high fashion AND eco-friendly make-over, courtesy of British fashion designers Clements Ribeiro.

The launch of Project 7 today today (27 November) will see an exclusive collection of seven limited edition stockings auctioned off on ebay via the Clements Ribeiro website, with profits donated to Oxfam.

Thought up in collaboration with Creative director of Eco-age.com and Oxfam global ambassador Livia Firth, each stocking in the collection is unique, and handcrafted from cashmere and wool, decorated with selection of antique embellishments from Victorian jet lace, to original 1940’s and 1950’s buttons and silk velvet ribbons.

Named after Santa’s seven reindeers (Blitzen, Donner, Dasher, Cupid, Rudolph, Comet and Popzin), Livia Firth has already fallen in love with the collection, saying "To have these unique stockings to be auctioned for Oxfam is a dream! I hope everyone will want to have one in their house for Christmas".

The auction runs from the 27 November – 7 December – get bidding now if you’d like to treat someone (or yourself) to a stylish and eco-friendly stocking this season.
