Coca Cola couture

Oh, how we wish our local corner shop sold these beauties...

Diet Coke has been long been linked with fashion designers – Karl Lagerfeld is famously addicted to the stuff (and drinks it from crystal goblets, as we discovered), so much so that he created a custom-made collection of bottles. Designers such as Matthew Williamson, Marni and Diane Von Furstenberg have also collaborated on cola bottles, and Jean-Paul Gaultier was recently named Creative Director of the brand.

But we recently stumbled across a cola bottle collection that truly cements the brand’s reputation as fuel for the fashionable. Created back in 2009 to raise money for the victims who survived the devastating earthquake in Abruzzo, Italy, Coca Cola Light (as it’s known in Europe) asked Moschino, Donatella Versace, Angela Missoni, Alberto Ferreti, Consuelo Castiglioni and Etro to put their stamp on the iconic bottle design.

The Tribute to Fashion charity project was so successful, Coca Cola are reportedly re-launching the bottles in Italy. Sadly, the bottles won’t be appearing on our shelves, but we just had to share the stylish designs with fellow Diet Coke addicts. Which bottle is your favourite? We'd proudly display the Moschino designs on our desk.
