“Real love is perfect, flawless, acrobatic”: comedian brilliantly recreates Instagram snaps of the rich and famous

Nicki Minaj twerking halfway up a mountain. Ruby Rose pouting in full makeup while she shaves her armpits. A fashion model perched on a basketball wearing nothing but a long-sleeved tee.

Sometimes the world of celebrity Instagrams can be a truly bizarre and baffling place, which is why Celeste Barber,  a comedian who perfectly spoofs A-list Instagram images, decided to turn the tables with her tongue-in-cheek recreations of the most weird and wonderful A-list snaps.

The Australian comedian began posting her images last year and has quickly amassed a following of over half a million users waiting for her next hilarious installment.

Posting under the hashtag #celestechallengeaccepted, Barber provides a humorous take on Instagram pictures of A-listers including Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus.

From posing in a silver lycra bodysuit on a beach to tumbling off a bed in her underwear, the images are the perfect re-enactments of the more unlikely images posted by our favourite stars.

Hiking and twerking, obviously. #celestechallengeaccepted #nickiminaj #funny #celestebarber

Speaking to ABC News about why she started taking the spoof images, Barber said, "People are so obsessed with celebrities and celebrities seem to be so obsessed with portraying everyday people.

"I thought, right, if this is what everyone does — challenge accepted."

However, she insists the images are not created to "bash" the stars she imitates.

"I'm very pro-woman. I don't want to be bashing people like Kim K, I actually think 'good on her'. I think she is a smart business woman," she said.

"She has a brand and her brand is her arse and it's a good one."
