Behold the ‘Suvet’: a suit duvet to cosy up in on your commute

Duvet_Suit_26.JPG

Leaving the cosy nest of your bed can be a struggle in the mornings, not to mention a commute spent yearning for the warmth and soft touch of your beloved duvet.

But if you often wrestle with the pros and cons of bringing a pillow and blanket on the tube with you, hold that thought; the innovators at Jurys Inn Hotel Group may have solved the dilemma for you.

Behold the Suvet.

Tapping into runway fashion trends, the creators at hotel chain Jurys Inn have fused bedroom couture with the puffa jacket for something mind-blowingly new.

Part cosy duvet, part puffa suit, this is wearable innovation at its most cutting edge. Karl Lagerfeld is likely kicking himself in the Chanel-clad shin right now.

Suvet

Recent research carried out by the hotel group revealed that 63 per cent of Brits value comfort over style, with just over half confessing that getting out of bed is a daily struggle.

While some cited the warmth and comfort of their bed as the main reason they struggle to rise, a further 42 per cent revealed that lack of sleep often tempts them back under the covers each morning.

So to help a nation in need, Jurys Inn teamed up with celebrity costume designer Wendy Benstead, to design a garment which could answer all our prayers.

With its snuggly hood and high collar, the Suvet offers its wearer a ready-made pillow to rest their head on, while a belted jacket and trousers made from 100% cotton (with a tog rating of 10.5), provide super soft and cushiony comfort.

All your early morning commute dreams rolled into one? Yes, we quite agree.

Suvet

Now, here’s the best bit; although the Suvet is of course a bit of a stunt (sorry folks), Jury’s Inn are willing to put all jokes aside and get this bad boy into production for a limited run, should there be enough public interest.

“With over two thirds of us valuing comfort over style, and over half facing a daily struggle to get up in the morning, we felt compelled to create a comfortable, stylish outfit to make getting up for work and tackling the day ahead easier,” says Suzanne Cannon, Head of Marketing for Jurys Inn.

“If there is enough interest in this one-of-a-kind prototype we will definitely consider putting a limited edition run into production - after all, who doesn’t like the thought of a duvet day, every day?”

Well, that’s our day made. If you’re keen to get a Suvet in your wardrobe, either vote in our poll below or tweet @JurysInnshotels using #JurysInnSuvet.
