Diane Kruger's style transformation

From young model to one of Hollywood's biggest stars, Diane Kruger has always been a style icon. But it was when director Wolfgang Petersen cast her as Helen of Troy - whom Christopher Marlow described as having "the face that launched a thousand ships" - in his 2004 blockbuster Troy that thrust her into the limelight, making her a regular at Cannes Film Festival and darling of the fashion pack.

Since then Diane, 38, has developed her own enviable sense of style that is a perfect mix of classic and neutral colours, adventurous sartorial touches and a vintage aesthetic. What's more captivating, is she does without the hands of a stylist.

"I know it's crazy to think it would be unusual for someone to dress themselves. But, so often in Hollywood, women have stylists and they all look the same," she told mytheresa.com's Women project earlier this year. "I did that too when I first started out. But then I'd see pictures and didn't recognise myself. As my confidence grew as an actor and as a woman I started picking my own clothes. I don't want to look like everybody else," she added.

From 1992 to 2014, we chart the evolution of Diane Kruger's impeccable and desirable style.
