Disney Characters Get A High Fashion Makeover

disneyfashion.jpg

Sure, Disney movies are aimed at kids -- but you're never too old to appreciate them. And now that the characters we love so much have gotten ridiculously cool new looks, we're even more obsessed.

Artist Sashiiko-Anti has given our favourite princesses and villains runway-ready makeovers.

While we loved their classic ballgowns and period costumes, it's pretty fun to see the ladies rocking mini skirts and ankle boots. All their new ensembles are fabulous, but we especially love Pocahantas' shorts-and-slouchy-blouse combo and Esmeralda's sexy jumpsuit.

But it's not just the ladies who got the high-fashion treatment.

Shashiiko transformed a few of the male villains into female fashionistas. We never thought we'd see Beauty and the Beast's beefy Gaston sporting leather leggings and platform heels, but it totally works.

Of course, we know that Disney princesses can be a somewhat controversial topic - but for anyone who might think she's trying to make a cultural statement with her edgy drawings, the artist would like to clear one thing up:

'Yes! My Disney girls have their boobs open, sexy lips and don't really look cute and innocent,' Sashiiko wrote on her website. 'I'm sorry to everyone who thinks that I may offend original Disney characters! But I draw fashion! FASHION!!!!'
