Backstage at Fashion Week is a surreal micro-universe all of its own.
The production element of a typical SS18 show is no mean feat. Behind half an hour or so of spectacular runway action lies a colourful battalion of professionals, who unite to engineer it without mishap.
An army of make-up artists battle for elbow room next to hair stylists and seamstresses. Casting directors rub shoulders with agents and journalists. Graphic designers await their cue, alongside sound engineers and technicians.
And of course, there’s the models themselves.
Amid this never-ending circus, a little mayhem is to be expected. The tension and drama is palpable – but so is the sense of exuberance when all goes to plan.
Come join us as we go behind the runway to look at the most atmospheric backstage snaps this season, led by the flower-filled tropicalia that was last night’s Moschino show in Milan…
