London Fashion Week SS15 Best Bits

lfwherobestbits.jpg

Amid a jam-packed, whirlwind of shows, collections and parties, some elements of London Fashion Week SS15 stood out more than others.

From Holly Fulton's mind-blowing press release and Outnet's shoe-hunting fashion dog, to the greatest catwalk moment, here are our LFW highlights:

1. MOST FASHION-Y PRESS RELEASE

A work of art in itself:

2. BEST SHOW INVITATION

We do like an invite with a dual purpose - Giles' fingerpointer is our new favourite office toy:

3. MOST UNIGNORABLE PR STUNT:

The Outnet exploited everyone's inability to resist a cute dog in clothes with Sergio the miniature dachshund, whose collarcam captured "unprecedented footage of footwear" at the shows:

4. TREND WE EMBRACED

Casual and comfortable - yes, we've wholeheartedly jumped on the normcore bandwagon.

Editor Lisa Smosarski, Acting Fashion Director Sorrel Kinder and Executive Executive Fashion Editor Kitty McGee:

5. MOST OBLIGING MODEL

Malaika Firth - our new fashion friend:

6. MOST ♥-WORTHY ALEXA CHUNG INSTAGRAM

She has many, but this patriotic showing from the style icon won our hearts:

7. MOST RANDOM FACTS

Courtesy of Mintel:

  • It takes 51 seconds to walk the length of the catwalk in the BFC Courtyard Show Space
  • 30,000 espressos are served to weary fashionistas each London Fashion Week
  • 80 Penhaligon’s candles are burnt at the shows
  • More than 70 hours are spent tanning, using 15 gallons of St Tropez

8. CELEBRITY APPEARANCE THAT GOT US TALKING

Cara Delevingne was always going to be one of the stars of the Burberry show - what we didn't expect was her swerving the catwalk in favour of a front row seat next to model idol Kate Moss.

9. MOST UNEXPECTED COLLABORATION

Marrying a renowned fashion designer with a major credit card was never going to be easy, but Osman's bespoke uniforms for Amex UK staff at LFW came off with finesse:

10. GREATEST CATWALK MOMENT

Coming soon to a red carpet near Miley Cyrus - the fabulousness that is Tom Ford's strategically embellished sheer top:

11. MOST AMBITIOUS BEAUTY LOOK

The draw-on cartoon lips at Vivienne Westwood distracted many from her pro-Scottish independence stance:

12. BEST BACKSTAGE FOOD OFFERING

A much-needed sugar rush from Topshop's pretty meringue kisses:
