As awards season rolls around and we watch the stars stride onto the red carpet in spectacular designer frocks, a few fashionable trends always start to emerge. So which shades and styles are already proving to be popular this year? We’ve spotted some strong contenders at the Golden Globes, and the nominees are…
Every shade of blue, from sapphire to midnight, seemed to make an appearance on the Golden Globes red carpet. Tilda Swinton looked statuesque in an icy jacket and flowing skirt by Haider Ackermann, while Kelly Osbourne matched her edgy grey-toned hairdo with a royal blue frock by Zac Posen and Sofia Vergara showed off her hourglass figure in a classic strapless gown by Vera Wang in a deep shade of navy.
Nudes and Champagne Shades
A bevy of leading ladies alerted us to the endless possibilities of skin-coloured to light silver and champagne tones. Jessica Chastain held her own in Givenchy, Heidi Klum was sublime in beige Calvin Klein and Kate Beckinsale ruled the red carpet in Roberto Cavalli.
This eye-catching finishing touch added a flourish to a number of Golden Globe dresses, including Julianne Moore in Chanel Couture, Reese Witherspoon in scarlet Zac Posen and Modern Family's Sofia Vergara once again, in Vera Wang.
