If you're anything like the team at stylist.co.uk, all you want to wear when boarding a plane is a cosy pair of pyjamas and some fleece slippers.
Unfortunately social norms mean this comfy attire is generally frowned upon in airports, on public transport or pretty much anywhere other than your bedroom (woe!). So, even if you take your favourite PJs to change into once you've boarded, it's probably best to wear something else beforehand.
With holiday season upon us we've taken a look at how celebrities dress when they're off to catch a plane and pulled together some style tips, below.
1. Big scarf
The temperatures on airplanes can vary wildly, and all too many times we've found ourselves shivering in our optimistic summer dresses. Take a large scarf, shawl or pashmina that you can wrap around your shoulders to keep warm.
Trainers are the perfect in-transit choice of footwear. Go for a pair of plain white sneakers and style with plenty of denim.
3. All black
Anna Wintour may have claimed 'head-to-toe black' as the one fashion statement she would never make, but here at stylist.co.uk we reckon there is something effortlessly stylish about an all black outfit. If it's good enough for Rooney Mara and Gwen Stefani, it's good enough for us!
4. Tan ankle boots and blue denim
Tan ankle boots and blue denim jeans make for a stylish look that works perfectly for casual, comfortable airport dressing.
5. Plenty of layers
If you're lucky enough to be leaving the chilly UK for a warmer climate, you will want to dress in plenty of layers. Think a soft tee under a jumper or flannel shirt with a lightweight jacket that can be gleefully shrugged off as soon as you arrive.
6. Dressing for an upgrade
A little birdie told us that when it comes to airport style, we should dress for an upgrade (which would almost be worth the agony of standing in baggage reclaim in a pair of towering heels!)
