“I look instantly happier”

If you’ve ever stood in front of a bulging wardrobe and thought ‘I’ve got nothing to wear’, you’re not alone. Many of us get stuck in a style rut and with a million other things to think about, it’s easy to let looking good take a back seat. That’s why, with the help of M&S, we’re launching our Welcome Back To You campaign, showing how real women can discover their full style potential.

This week, M&S helps blogger Jaime Tung, 32, discover her perfect wardrobe for weekends away.

I write a lot of travel reviews for my lifestyle blog, angloyankophile.com (I’m an American living in the UK), and I’ve noticed that I get more reactions to posts when I’m actually in the photos. The problem is I rarely like pictures of myself. I play safe with my style – my clothes are mostly baggy and monochrome, but I always feel and look awkward.

I’d like to take better selfies on city breaks – and would love to give vlogging a go – but my lack of confidence shows. And packing is a nightmare. I either pack too light and regret all my choices, or take too much and don’t wear most of it.

That’s all changed since my day with the M&S stylists. I’ve discovered palettes and patterns that make me feel great – soft and feminine pastels and florals. It’s made me realise that I can be more adventurous with fashion while still being myself, and I instantly feel and look happier and more relaxed in pictures.

It would also have never have occurred to me before this to pair shorts with heels, but this is such a good look for going to dinner in a city – I’ll definitely be experimenting with it more.
