We often hear of people etching their wedding date, favourite quote or sweet nothings such as "XOXO" (we're looking at you, Matthew McConaughey) onto their wedding bands.
But one American woman went for an alternative and unashamedly direct message on her husband's ring.
Amanda Tallman from Michigan ordered her jeweller to engrave the words "Put it back on" onto her husband Dan's wedding ring, to serve as a not-so-subtle reminder of their marriage every time he takes it off.
Speaking about the ring and his "prankster" wife, Allman told ABC News, “We ordered the ring at the jeweler and she slipped the lady a note and then when the ring came in I saw it for the first time. I just laughed. That’s Amanda in nutshell.”
The couple have now been married for five years and have three children together and, while some may question Amanda's motives, Dan is adamant that she meant the inscription as a playful joke.
He added, “Some people are commenting that she must be insecure or something, but it’s quite the opposite. People tell us we have the best marriage they’ve ever seen.”
