You never know what to expect from a Vivienne Westwood catwalk show; from surprise appearances in the front row (Heston Blumenthal and Leigh Lezark this time) to the music and, of course, the clothes.

For Autumn/Winter 2012, the grande dame of British fashion showed a collection that contained all her signature motifs with an updated twist. The famous Westwood draped dresses appeared with colourful, abstract prints and of course there was plenty of beautiful tailoring, with an elegant black tuxedo being a particular highlight.

The iconic Westwood checks were present and correct in the form of cropped trousers and skirt suits with intricate pleats and folds. There were plenty of classic, wearable pieces, from the coats (a great selection) to the trousers, slouchy sweaters and shirts, all of which would easily fit into your wardrobe and last for years.

When Dame Vivienne took her bow at the end of the show to Motorhead's Ace of Spades, we were left in no doubt that the punk queen of fashion is at the top of her game.
