Dystopian dresses and incredible couture: all the fantastic fashion from the 2017 Met Gala

The Met Gala has been and gone once again, and, once again, celebrities and designers did not fail to impress on the red (well, white and blue) carpet.

Held in honour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute exhibition, the theme – as revealed last October – for 2017 was ‘Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between’.

Japanese designer Kawakubo, founder of Comme des Garçons, is known for her eccentric, high-fashion looks and the models, actors, singers and stars gathering in New York took her aesthetic to heart in a range of beautiful, intriguing and artful creations – not to mention many fully embracing the idea of the ‘in-between’ on the steps of the famous museum.

Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lena Dunham, Blake Lively, Serena Williams, Claire Danes, Cara Delevingne and a sprinkling of Kardashians are just a few of the names in our bumper fashion gallery of the night’s looks.
