New Look have their own budget version of Prada’s new ‘it’ handbag

If there’s one thing we love more than a designer bag, it’s a bag that looks like it’s a designer one for a fraction of the price.

However, when the new Prada Cahier bag hit the market, we were almost tempted to blow our January budget and treat ourselves to the star-studded number. Almost.

From the velvet, to the bronze hardware, to the smattering of delicate astrological details, it’s a far-cry from all the bog-standard black and tan bags on the market - this is a statement piece. And, as such, it feels unique, quirky, and a thing of beauty.

Take a look for yourself…

It’s out of this world.

However it’s worth pointing out that this little beauty does cost over £1600 – and, on a lean, lean month like January (does anybody out there have any money left after Christmas? Anyone at all?), we doubt anybody is able to get their hands on that much disposable cash.

In fact, the same applies to any and every month.

Thank goodness, then, for the high street.

Cathy Donohue, a fashion lover and writer for Her, has tracked down a ‘dupe version’ for a fraction of the price – and it’s from none other than New Look.

It’s not exactly the same as the Prada number, but it’s not bad; instead of velvet, it’s made from a more practical leather (or pleather) material, and it’s studded with twinkling golden stars, too.

The buckle, just like the original, takes centre-stage – although, obviously, this one isn’t adorned with the classic Prada label.

While New Look’s interpretation of this season’s ‘it’ Prada bag has yet to drop in stores or online yet, it’s due to arrive very soon – and fans are already predicting that it will sell out fast.

We recommend staking out your local shop, asap, to ensure you get your mitts on one before they’re gone…
