Pioneering style

Innovative, directional and cutting edge style are just some of the words that spring to mind when you think about G-Star. After all, it was the first brand to embrace using untreated RAW denim, a move which revolutionised the industry.

Now with almost a quarter of a century experience under their belt, G-Star has launched a series of collaborations, RAW Episodes, featuring artists who capture the same pioneering raw spirit as well as share the brand’s belief in innovation and authenticity.

LA-based musician Yuna Zarai who is currently shaking up the music industry with her unconventional manner captures the G-Star ethos perfectly as she merges fashion and music with her deep Malaysian roots. In the first of the RAW Episodes, the stylish and unconventional artist shows how she styles her G-Star denim in her favourite LA haunts. From how she wears her Type C 3D loose tapered jeans, note, there’s a bit of 90s grunge theme here, to the way she layers up different denims to create a mish-mash that oozes LA downtown cool.

Check out the RAW Episode video below where Yuna shares more on her inspirations, music, style, plus her love for headscarves, which she is rarely seen without.

If only we could make a headscarf look so chic.
