They're flamboyant, unique and eccentric; Prada’s Spring 2012 flame stilettos are fast becoming the talk of the town in celebrity circuits.

First Katy Perry created a stir by sporting a red and yellow version of the Flame sandals - worth around £820 - at the Miu Miu show at Paris Fashion Week.

Then this weekend, Black Eyed Peas' Fergie followed suit, flaunting a St. Patrick's Day-themed emerald green pair at a launch party in Beverly Hills.

"Happy St. Patrick’s Day lovers!!!!" the singer later tweeted.

Fantasy shoes are a big trend for this spring, with bold colours and cut-out embellishments competing for attention. But such a major style statement won't be to everyone's taste.

What do you think about the flame shoes? Would you wear them? Let us know on Twitter or in the comments section, below.
