Romeo Beckham is the new face of Burberry

Burberry have announced Romeo Beckham as one of the faces of their Spring Summer 2013 campaign.

Cast alongside Burberry catwalk regular (and model of the year at the British Fashion Awards) Cara Delevingne, plus Edie Campbell, Charlotte Wiggins, Alex Dunstan, Charlie France and Max Rendell, the young son of David and Victoria Beckham makes his modelling debut wearing the classic Burberry trench coat, and clutching an umbrella in the brand’s iconic check print, in a campaign shot by Mario Testino.

Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer said that the ten year-old was a “joy to work with and really stole the show… we had such fun shooting the campaign and I think that comes through in the images which really reflect the upbeat spirit of the collection."

With his mother now producing two critically and commercially sucessful collections at New York Fashion Week every season, and his father making headlines as the face of H&M Underwear, modelling seems like a natural choice for the ten year-old. Victoria has even mentioned Romeo's love of fashion in interviews, saying "I think that my middle son thinks that he is going to take over. Romeo likes to get involved, he likes to go out in a suit with a bowler hat. He's a real fashion lover."

Romeo appeared in Burberry on the red carpet recently, alongside his father David and brothers Brooklyn and Cruz to support Victoria at the press launch of the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever.

Alongside the campaign image, a video of Romeo in action has been released by Burberry – scroll down to watch.
