Solange Knowles marries Alan Ferguson in New Orleans and celebrates with street party

Solange Knowles has married her video director partner Alan Ferguson in a ceremony in New Orleans over the weekend.

Solange, 28, and Alan, 51, had one of coolest weddings we've ever seen, which was attended by 200 family and friends, including Solange's sister Beyoncé, her husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy.

The creative couple have been together since 2008. The singer and DJ also has a son, Daniel Julez, with her ex-husband Daniel Smith.

The bride wore a dress created by designer Humberto Leon for Kenzo, which was a floor-length gown with fitted cape. She accessorised with gold cuffs from Lady Grey and kept her hair natural.

On the way to the ceremony at the Marigny Opera House, the stylish duo decided to ride on matching white bikes, with Solange opting for an incredible cream jumpsuit by designer Stephane Rolland.

But the outfit changes didn't stop there, other important looks of note included Solange's chiffon asymmetrical dress for the rehearsal dinner evening dress, and her second jumpsuit of the day that came with a plunging neckline, which she wore for the evening do.

We definitely spotted a real cape fetish going on for the whole of the day, which tied all the looks in well.

Beyoncé went for a strappy bodycon white dress, while Jay-Z went for an all-white suit complete with a bow tie. Mum Tina Knowles opted for a maxi dress with long sleeves and ruffles down the front.

The official shots were taken by photographer Rog Walker and the bride walked down the aisle to  a symphonic instrumental of Donny Hathaway’s, I Love the Lord, He Heard My Cry.

Solange told Vogue US that she had worked hard on planning the day and that “everyone I worked with on the wedding are friends who I love. Everything was a labor of love”.

While sister Bey didn't perform a whole host of other musicians did, including The Roots' Questlove.

And as if Solange hadn't proved her cool credentials, at one point she took to the dance floor for a dance-off with son Daniel, 10. Watch all the cuteness below.

The weekend's festivities started on the Friday with 50 of the couples' friends being treated to watching the movie they first bonded over - the classic Diana Ross 1975 movie Mahogany. Before the film played, they showed guests a documentary about the couple.

The whole weekend finished on a Mardi Gras style parade in New Orleans' French Quarter, with guests brandishing sparklers in the air and dancing the night away.
