Julianne Moore in Tom Ford

Not just an award winner, but a winner in the style stakes too. Julianne went bold with a scarlet floor length gown. The long sleeves and collar detail balanced out the deep front slash, keeping things classy. Top marks for the screen siren hair too.

Felicity Jones in Dior Haute Couture

With her minimal jewellery, simple chignon and sweet smile, Felicity looks fresh and modern in this elegant Dior creation. The 3D floral embroidery on this gown marked it out as something special, it was indeed couture. She wears it well.

Rosamund Pike in Roland Mouret

Rosamund’s black, halter neck gown was a safe choice and a good choice. The bold, geometric cut of the dress was the perfect shape for with her angular bobbed hair. The beauty of this look was entirely in its simplicity.

Romola Garai in Roksanda

It was lovely to see a spot of bold colour on the red carpet, with Romola going for the unorthodox choice of a blouse and skirt in a seas of gowns. Brit designer Roksanda is the queen of colour blocking; certainly shown here in this vibrant combination.

Keira Knightley in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture

All eyes are currently on Keira to lead the way in the pregnancy style stakes and this intricately embroidered Couture gown certainly did not disappoint. Its midi length added a modern twist to a traditionally lovely dress, Keira looked radiant.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Prada

This structured bodiced Prada gown was the ideal choice for Gugu. The lilac colour is subtle, yet stands out well against the red carpet, while the black trim adds a pleasing contrasting toughness to the dress' flowing skirt.

Kristin Scott Thomas in Vintage Balmain

This Balmain gown from William Vintage was a wildly elegant choice for Ms Scott Thomas. Her short swept back hair and statement earrings were the perfect foil to this chic look. Also, most importantly, it was nice to see someone looking covered up against the biting February evening. Spot on, Kristin.

Amy Adams in Lanvin

It was nice to see Amy Adams looking super slick and dynamic in this bright white Lanvin column dress. Its clean lines and minimal shape worked perfectly with her sleek chopped hair, which the tie waist belt was a nice nod to the oriental trend for spring.

Lea Seydoux in Prada

Lea looked every inch the Bond girl to be in her flowing marigold gown. This draped Grecian style dress was kept modern with strategic cut aways. The addition of  a strong red lip was the perfect finishing touch.

Laura Bailey in Emilia Wickstead

The precise lady like cut of this textured, snowy hued gown marks it out as being distinctly Emilia Wickstead. The designer is the master of restrained elegance and Laura looks every inch the polished snow queen in this refined dress.
