Say hello to succulent manicures: actual tiny plants as nail art

Not long ago, succulents were something not all that many would be familiar with.

But thanks to a winning combination of low maintenance and high style, these hardy plants have taken over our living rooms, bedrooms and, inevitably, our Instagram feeds.

And now, dear reader, you can take this hot new trend and apply it to your actual fingernails. Tiny, living plants on your very fingertips. Well, on the fingertips of one woman at least.

Australia-based Roz Borg took her usual work with kokedama and terrariums and applied it to her manicure – and the results, as you can see, are striking.

Looking for something that hadn’t already been done with succulents, she hit on the idea of gluing them to false nails – and using floral glue means they can be planted afterwards. Which is handy, as they’re not exactly the most practical of manicures.

“People are stunned when they realize it’s real live plants, not 3D sculpting,” Borg told huffingtonpost.com. “Some people are grossed out, but most love it!”

See more of her work on her Instagram account.
