The Oscars 2015; the red carpet highlights

The Oscars is always one of the most-anticipated nights of the awards season. Not just because we get to see who is crowned the best in the whole of Hollywood but also because we get to see some extraordinary red carpet gowns. 

This year was no different. Red was a strong theme, with the likes of Dakota Johnson and Solange opting for the bright hue. But arguably the most elegant and striking red gown of the night was worn by Rosamund Pike, whose gorgeous Givenchy number is sure to make the best dressed lists everywhere. 

Another common colour was white. Julianne Moore wore a strapless Chanel gown, Lady Gaga accessorised her pale frock with red gloves and Lupita Nyong'o brilliantly embellished with pearls.
