The surprising Zara item that is selling out across the globe

rexfeatures_5899209d.jpg

A mere few weeks ago, Zara became the talk of office coolers across the country when one of its coats went viral, sparking an online frenzy that culminated in a dedicated Instagram account and thousands of sightings of the blue and white checked number across the country.

Now the Spanish retailer is at it again, with one of their more unusual items flying off shelves and into virtual shopping baskets faster than you can say "athleisure".

The item in question is a pair of black trousers with two red stripes down the outside of both legs, as seen below:

The trousers got their first taste of fame after being modeled by Olivia Palermo (below) when she took her seat on the FROW at Mary Katrantzou's Spring/Summer 2017 show in London last month.

Since being donned by Palermo, the trousers are being viewed almost 1,000 times per week, with shopping super-site Lyst stating they are the second most viewed item online right now.

Here in the Stylist.co.uk office, we have a 50/50 split on whether we love or hate the fashionable trousers.

But priced at just £59, the trousers won't break the bank - plus, they tap into the current athleisure trend sweeping the nation.
