Victoria Beckham spring/summer 2012

She may have been known as Posh Spice, but Victoria Beckham's spring/summer 2012 collection takes a decidedly sporty air.

The range - unveiled at the singer-turned-designer's New York Fashion Week presentation on Sunday (11 September) - featured urban yet elegant pieces, including glossy, oversized pastel parkas and flattering two-tone body-con dresses. Clean, sharp lines made for a polished collection - given a daring edge with exposed zips, splashes of zesty colour and luxe fabrics.

Stretch knee-length dresses were paired with leather leggings, while daring mini shifts had a futuristic theme. And, surprisingly, the shoes were mostly flat and functional, but her handbags remained big and boxy.

The show also honoured the victims of 9/11 with two minute-long silences observed.
