From jazz age sass to Chanel-inspired chic, watch 100 years of fashion evolve in under two minutes

hero.jpg

We love nothing better than taking a trip down memory lane, especially when it comes to the wonderful world of fashion.

So you can imagine our delight when a new video surfaced this week, pulling together 100 years of women's style evolution - in just under two minutes.

The beautifully crafted feature showcases the vast changes that our hemlines, hats and accessories have undergone in the past century.

More poignantly, the video really captures how the trend of a moment engenders a very distinctive type of mood.

The model at the centre of it moves effortlessly from the dignifed pompadour of the early 20th century to the brassy chemise and cloche hat combo adored by Coco Chanel in the early 20s, the frivolous 50s burst of pattern of colour in the 50s and of course, the brazen, big-haired '80s:

1915
1965
1985
2015

What's more, there's a cracking soundtrack to go with each trend transition.

The video was put together by the folks over at Mode - and as they say, this is one history lesson you don't want to miss.

Come immerse yourself in the dramatic wind change of fashion from 1915 to today with a look at it, below.
