Watch how high heels have transformed in the last 100 years

We've always had a love/hate relationship with high heels, but we'd be lying if we said we weren't fascinated to see how they've changed over the years.

Spoiler alert: they're pretty much the same now as they were 100 years ago, as shown in a newly released video from the experts over at Mode.

The video, which packs 100 years of high heels into a mere three minutes, takes us from fur-trimmed shoes in the 1910s to platforms in the 1940s and pointed numbers in the 1980s - a style that has recently seen a huge resurgence on the high street.

The video has already been viewed over 66,500 times since it was posted to YouTube yesterday, and looks set to follow in the steps of Mode's previous hit videos, including 100 years of engagement ring designs.
