Whistles is launching a wedding dress collection

No matter what the season, wedding inspiration rains down thick and fast in the form of catwalk shows, celebrity nuptials, Pinterest posts and, well, Disney.

But while the designer dream dresses can seem out of reach thanks to second-mortgage-inducing price tags, luckily there’s also never been a better time for affordable, yet stylish, wedding collections.

While some labels have released budget versions of their best-selling creations, the high street is easily holding its own and now Whistles is the latest fashion favourite to debut a wedding line – with prices ranging from £499 to £699.

The seven-piece collection includes traditional nods, such as sweeping trains and plenty of lace, as well as more contemporary looks, such as a tiered floor-length gown with a delicate high neck, an off-the-shoulder dress with a high-low hem and a jumpsuit with cape sleeves.

Whistles Wedding will launch in February 2017 online and in the store’s flagship London branch, where brides-to-be can make private appointments to try the designs as they would in a bridal boutique.

“We’ve had so much interest from customers on wedding attire that we felt the time was right to launch a contemporary collection of dresses for the modern bride,” creative director Nick Passmore says. “Whistles Wedding will offer our customer a refined collection from which they can choose something to wear for their big day, from a city wedding right through to a countryside celebration.”
