Wild and wonderful hats of Ascot 2014

There's no such thing as too much when it comes to hats at Ascot.

Go Big Or Go Home is very much the fashion motto of this annual horse fiesta, as ladies line up to out-wow one another in the headgear stakes. Forget dusting off last year's feathered fascinator; this is a time to dare, to dazzle and to delight.

Playing safe doesn't come into it, as milliners across the land unless their creative skills in a flutter of lace, crepe, veils and wacky detailing. So far, this year's highlights include a giant blue butterfly number, a horse grazing atop a field (yes, on a hat) and an intriguing poetry-inspired piece made from a 3D printer.
