Vampires: a sexual evolution

25 sexiest vampires

Bloodthirsty rogues to die for

When Bram Stoker penned his 1897 Gothic novel Dracula about an ancient mythical demon that exists by sucking the blood of innocent humans, "sexy" may not have been the direction he saw his villain headed.

Yet almost 100 years on from the writer’s death, the perennial allure of the vampire’s bite is evident in hit books, movies and TV shows centered around the fang-wielding immortal demon. Loyal Twilight fans eagerly await their next movie fix of the brooding, bequiffed and undead Edward Cullen, while insatiable True Blood viewers flock to watch their favourite vamps get busy, Southern style.

Ahead of the 100th anniversary of Stoker's death next month, chart the glamorisation of the ghoul with our coven of 25 screen vampires through history. Let us know which you think is the tastiest on Twitter or in the comments section below...
